Mike Tyson to Join Broadcast Team for Glory 19 Kickboxing

Tyson News Glory 19

Last week, GLORY announced that fighting icon ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson would be joining the broadcast team for its upcoming GLORY 19 event.

Prior to taking up his role on fight night Tyson has been filming segments for a Countdown-style preview show which is set to air on Spike TV on Friday, January 30. At the weekend GLORY released an out-take from last week’s shoot, with Tyson poking fun at the infamous ear-biting incident in his fight with Evander Holyfield

Tyson is of course no stranger to kickboxing. In 2003 he faced off with Bob Sapp at a K-1 event in Las Vegas and was in talks to sign with the organization to fight the behemoth former NFL player.

There were also talks for a fight with Mirko ‘CroCop’ Filipovic. The Croatian is currently part of GLORY’s heavyweight division but there are, sadly, no plans for Tyson to come out of retirement and make that fight happen.

GLORY 19 takes place Friday, February 6 at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia, USA and is headlined by a World Heavyweight Championship fight between defending champion Rico Verhoeven and his rival Errol ‘The Bonecrusher’ Zimmerman
